Barton County Library has been awarded a Technology Mini Grant in the amount of $10,641. This grant has been used to replace six patron computers and one server. These new computers will provide our patrons with the latest versions of Microsoft Windows 10 and Office, increasing the speed and ease with which they can access the Internet, create and save documents, and post on social media. They are available at all three of our library locations. The new server helps to provide network services to our patrons and staff members. We have also purchased two new printers for our Golden City and Liberal Branches. These printers provide basic copying and scanning functions for our patrons and staff members. A document scanner was purchased for our Lamar branch to give staff members a more efficient way of scanning patron applications and documents. This project is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State.
